Native Adoptions Arizona

Native Adoptions Arizona is a multimedia project exploring the Indian Child Welfare Act’s impact on some of the 22 federally recognized tribes. A team of four graduate students at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication spent two months speaking to adoptive families, legal experts, advocacy organizations and challenges to the longstanding law.

This deep dive into the law and its impact examines the arguments both for and against ICWA. To reach out to the journalists behind the story, please contact nativeadoptionsAZ@gmail.com.
